Elijah: Faith and Fire by Priscilla Shirer
Leader: Sherrill Boone
Location: Hodges Campus, Room A180
7 sessions • August 20 to October 1

Blinded by the remarkable narratives of our biblical heroes, we can forget they each had a backstory—months and years of development, even difficulty, which fortified their spiritual muscle and prepared them for the tasks that made their lives unforgettable. Journey through the life and times of the prophet Elijah to discover how the fire on Mount Carmel was forged in the valley of famine. And how the emboldened, fiery faith you desire is being fashioned by God in your life right now.

  • Understand the value of seasons of growth and testing in your spiritual maturity.

  • Be encouraged to wait on God’s good work in your heart and mind, even in seasons when you feel like no one sees.

  • Learn to trust in the goodness and faithfulness of God and His purposes for your life.

Closer than Your Next Breath: Where is God When You Need Him the Most? by Susie Larson
Leader: Heidi Rall
6 sessions • August 21 to September 25
Hodges Campus, Room B216

Though we believe in our minds that God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-present, sometimes we don't feel his closeness. Join bestselling author, speaker, and radio host Susie Larson as she explores these questions and more:

  • How do I know if I'm hearing the voice of God?

  • Is feeling good the same as feeling God?

  • Is there anything I can do when God seems silent?

  • How should God's presence impact me?

There's nothing like God's presence in our lives, but sometimes we chase the sensational and miss the supernatural. When we pursue the heart of God through the Word of God, that's when we experience the presence of God—and it makes all the difference in our lives.
