Pastor Spike was born in Baton Rouge, LA (Geaux Tigers!) and met his wife, Kitty, while in college. He has degrees from William Carey University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Spike served at several other churches and was on the staff of the Florida Baptist Convention when he became part of the core team that launched Chets Creek Church in 1998. He has had a front-row seat to God’s incredible work through our Chets family and continues to lead us to passionately pursue our vision of being a church for the unchurched, here and around the world.

In addition to his responsibilities at Chets, Pastor Spike serves on the Board of Directors of One More Child (Florida Baptist Children’s Homes), one of our Chets Missions partners. He has previously served as a trustee for the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and as a member of the Florida Governor’s Faith-Based and Community-Based Advisory Council.

Spike and Kitty enjoy spending time with their two daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren. He loves working outside, traveling, hunting, fishing, reading, and LSU football.
