There are 2.6 million people who live in Las Vegas and approximately 92 percent of them don’t know Jesus. Heiden Ratner and his wife Neena, both Las Vegas natives, were a part of that statistic. They didn’t grow up in typical Christian households, but God worked in both their lives in college.

After Heiden became a believer, he grew a passion for teaching, preaching, and sharing the gospel. That passion is what brought him and Neena back to Las Vegas to plant WALK Church. Heiden and Neena both felt a call from God to reach the lost in this spiritually dark place. They hope to do that through WALK Church and other plants in the city and surrounding areas.

Since their launch two and a half years ago, WALK Church has baptized 54 people. Within the past year, they’ve seen a 95 percent growth in attendance. This year they average 205 people attending weekly compared to 110 this time last year. The WALK Church family is encouraged by how many people are getting connected and engaged in small groups as well.

Not only did WALK Church grow, the Ratner family grew as well. Heiden and Neena just welcomed their second son, Asa Ratner into the world earlier this year. God is working incredibly through the Ratners and showing up in ways that only He can. To learn more about Heiden and Neena, check out this video.

NAMB is one of our partners that equips churches and church plants with resources to serve their communities. Here are five things that you can be praying with WALK Church about this week:

Pray for their Worship Team to continue developing. Pray that God would give their leadership team good discernment in taking the best next steps for the overall growth and health of the team.
Pray for their partnerships at Schofield Middle School and Del Sol High School. Pray that they would continue to reach students, parents, and faculty members at these schools with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Pray for their Kids Ministry Director position. They are looking to hire a new Kids Director in the coming months. Let’s ask with them that the Lord would send and lead them to exactly the right leader He has in store for them!
Pray for the Leadership Team at WALK Church to continue to grow in unity with one another and Christlikeness. Pray that this team would continue to develop into God-glorying, multiplying, leaders.
Pray for WALK Church to continue growing and that they would effectively launch a second worship service in the fall of 2018.
