More than 200 women gathered across our four campuses last weekend for a time of refreshing, refocusing, and renewing at IF:Gathering 2018.
This year’s theme was Fanning the Flame based on 2 Timothy 1:6-7...
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
The women spent time listening to speakers inspire them to live out their faith. They were encouraged to be “flame throwers” by identifying others around them that they can share God with through discipleship. Each woman was given a matchbox to represent the flame. They were asked to write the name of someone on it that they could “fan into flame the gift of God” through discipleship.
During the weekend, the women were challenged to endure in their faith. When nothing exciting is happening and their walk with Jesus just seems normal, would they remain faithful? The women were asked to write on the back of the matchbox an action step they would take to help them remain near to God and endure in the everyday.
Women of all ages came together to share their struggles, their successes, and be reminded of who they are in Christ. They spent time enjoying time with each other and having real conversations about life and faith.
Women were challenged to walk away from the weekend and be in community with one another, build relationships, have accountability, and be intentional about daily reading scripture and spending time with Jesus.
