Chets Worship
Everything you need to know about joining the worship ministry at Chets Creek Church.
OUR MISSION
The worship ministry at Chets Creek Church desires to help people know God and be changed by Him — in a way that changes the world — through worship gatherings that create space for people to respond to who God is and what He has done.
TEAM EXPECTATIONS
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
Leading worship is a great honor. We hold a few shared commitments that keep our team healthy, prepared, and united.
-
We ask that Chets Creek be your church home — not necessarily as an official member, but in the sense that you belong here. That includes attending worship gatherings even on weeks you're not serving.
-
We believe every team member should be growing spiritually, wherever they are in their journey — whether exploring the faith, new to it, or walking with Christ for many years.
-
We view worship ministry as service to God and our church. Our team also participates in Chets Creek's broader mission to reach and serve the community through service projects and events.
-
To give our best and minimize distractions, come fully prepared: listen to song samples, review chord charts before rehearsal, and learn your specific part. Technical preparation matters — and so does arriving mentally and spiritually ready to lead.
-
The worship team is a family. We care for each other by listening well, honoring each other's feelings, and being on time and prepared — because showing up ready is one of the most practical ways to respect the people around you.
STEP 1 — COMPLETE THE INTEREST FORM
If you're reading this, you've already started. Complete the Worship Team Interest form at the bottom of this page so we can learn a little about you.
STEP 2 - INTRODUCTORY CONVERSATION
We'll reach out using the contact information you provide to get to know you better and answer any questions you have. We'll then invite you to observe a rehearsal so you can see how our ministry works behind the scenes.
STEP 3 - PLAY OR SING WITH THE TEAM
The final step is a hands-on audition. This gives you a real feel for playing on the team and lets us assess where you'll fit best musically. It happens one of two ways:
You join a rehearsal and play alongside the band, or
You're invited to one of our scheduled audition events throughout the year.
Either way, you'll receive sheet music and MP3 samples in advance by email. During the audition, you'll step in for the existing player on your instrument. Listen to the recordings for your specific part — if there's a recognizable lead line, try to replicate it. Otherwise, focus on capturing the overall feel and dynamics of each section.
